Have you tried multitexturing ? Use three layers (skin, brown hair, top hair) and paint in some shadows/AO to the lower layers, then bake it to a single texture.
Go for it. Breaking down that scene, it doesn't look like a lot of assets. One hut, a walkway set, rock, sky and water. My only concern is it's very brown.
GameMaker has been around for a while :) It has grown since I have last used it. Here is a game made with it. [ame]www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0mGXNE8VIs[/ame]

Ahhh, I get it. It's a modern version of those 'colorize the pictures' books for grown-ups right? Seriously the photo probably does a really bad job of representing the picture.
In game art, if you can save a few polys by using a tri, do it. It is frowned upon, however, for high-polygon models because it can cause smoothing issues and such.
I toured the studio back in 2004 and it is insane to see how big it has grown by a couple hundred people! Such an inspiring studio, can't wait for Guild Wars 2!!!
Don't be such a downer Keg, turn that frown upside down and meet up at Stadium and we'll go from there. If you guys figure out something for Friday, I'd be up for it.
haha Axel!!!! Good to see you back dude! And yeah, that is pretty scary, especially Fallen with his crusty the clown hair (I know you're reading this Pete )
