Hey guys, thank you for all the great feedback. Amsterdam Hilton Hotel (very unusual nickname BTW :) ): I'll see if I can add a few decals, but the high frequency might actually be bad .jpg compression :) . Plus, I've sharpened the images a little and now that I look at them they do seem a little weird. I know exactly what…
Thanks for pointing out the corners of the factory- they definitely need to be looked at. As far as tri-counts go, I was told to budget 1000-1500 tris for small units, and no more than 2000 tris for large units. The turret weighs in at 1296. The other buildings are usually under budget- the importer is around 840, the…
I dig what you have going on here, but the houses and cars lack character and do not fit with the rest of the environment. They need more wear, more staining, more decay. Check out some quick reference I found: https://wewastetime.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/09150404_10_xl.jpg…
This isn't going to be just a material solution. Its a combination of material and the hit detection portion of the game. Using UDK as a base look in the "takeDamage" function of the actor class. Included in that is a vector for hit location. So for your player class using this material you're creating you can have a hook…
I did have the new crycompressorRC.dll. That got the tiff image importing and the environment map creation working again. But didn't help with the fbx conversion. I'm gonna try a little more testing, see if I can figure it out. taking notes format cryengine rc version compiler, modo fbx version, modo preferences fbx…
lol. well that's one way to rationalize it. The ferrari costs 5 million, it's okay to charge 5k for the cigarette lighter ;) but yeah, it's a tad cheaper than the plain-boring-dirt-cheap-OEM-ram-which-you-can-buy-over-the-counter-for-a-quarter-of-the-price which apple usually sells you for crazy amount. Which is kinda…
I did a few try with the Oculus Rift. Performance was a big hit, the game was running at around 50fps on my gtx670. However after a few optimisation and building the lighting I'm able to run between 90-130fps in the editor. It's funny how you seem to move ten times faster with the Rift, when compared to regular monitor :)…
