@ bugo... that wont work... like onionhead said you would loose all your texture resolution... feature film assets can have hundreds of textures just for one object... i would use this script here... its using mudbox file naming... in your case you have to name your textures like this... u1_v1 is for the first tile...… -

I don't poke around in MA files with notepad very often but it looks like you had tons and tons of construction history. You need to delete that every once in a while or it can lead to crashes or worst case, irretrievable content like what you're experiencing now. It's tough to really pinpoint crashes since Maya can crash for a multitude of reasons. I know I reverted back to 2013 from 2015 after experiencing several crashes after deleting history with smooth preview enabled. Sometimes it's not possible to know the "why" of a crash but instead just find a way to recover your files…
