Naw, my desktop in an q9550, 8gb of ram, a 1tb 7200rpm HDD, and an Nvidia 470 which can push 5 million polys before it gets to slow. An SSD will not solve the OPs problem, a real OS would. -

Nah, you could get it for maybe 345 or 340, but honestly, that's not worth the risk for something as valuable as this. Just get it at newegg. Or via eBay, of course, but don't try any weird sites over a 2-3% discount. -

i have the asus, it's nice. i'd keep an eye on amazon if you don't want it immediately, i bought mine in september and the price varied a lot over a couple of weeks and i got it for under £400, it's currently at £470 -

i just bought a i5 ivy bridge with some random board and 8 gigs of ram (like 340)€ rest usually can be found in ones old computer(like case, dvd/blueray drive, psu and harddrives) -

The two best large options: The dell 24" LCD (I've heard it's gorgeous, even for color) The apple Studio display 30" (you need a quadro 340 as minimum to drive it. The dual ramdac's have to be linkable to drive the resolution) -

That's funny, it works fine for me but someone else mentioned it too. Does it open OK in photoshop? The zip file should be 381 MB, and the 16k .hdr file should be 370 MB. If the file sizes don't match, maybe the download timed out?
