Yeah like I said, there are instances where the complexity of the alpha would mean way too much geometry, and in those cases its good to use. Small chains and that sort of thing would be a good example.
@Hourences Great idea! I'll definitely give it a try. Has this been done in any game that you can think of? I'd love to see an example if possible. I'll be sure to play around with it. Thanks for the feedback!
No, same side. Modeling toolkit Target Weld is best example of this. It tries to guess which vertex you "want" to choose and sometimes hovering over the one you want to select, actually selects a different one.
Sculpting is great but the textures aren't doing the model justice. ps: uploaded image quality is a little too low. Not sure who your with but you should be able to get away with anything <1mb at photobucket for example.
Awesome Work .... But Why Crytek downgraded the graphics and features of the PC to Consolle version ??? I know is not fault of graphics and your work is stunning , an example to follow :) ..... Love the rural house but these vegetation plants are real or fake?
cheers, will check that, one more question, is it possible to manipulate the mask like you can in Photoshop, for example, I want to be able to select a piece of mask then cut/copy it to some other places, is it doable in ZBrush?
very nice work, and a gracious example of factoring good criticisms with aplomb :) model in the OP was strong but not without flaws, and now through the gauntlet i think you'll have a really strong piece. nice work.
do you have an example of the same models stacked up on top of each other without the procbuilding? because it really looks like you've just got bad lightmap UVs or not enough lightmap resolution
I've looked over the guide a few times now, specifically for the metalness workflow and I think I've got it. I've written a summary to further plant it in my brain, based on the lens example in the tutorial. Is this correct?
Thanks Makkon, no problem, :) About the hooded figure, you are right, really are fast sketches in a couple of hours playing with the brushes in zbrush, for example the lion it was a simple plane without any kind of base mesh :poly142:
