New to this forum, so I thought I should just post the latest thing I've done. Not commissioned art by any means, but for fun. Based on the original Landstalker into (hence the kind of 'pudgy' main character). Need to make his armor leather instead of steel, though.
I took a break from 3d the other weekend and made a Photoshop collage from a whole bunch of old sketches. I bumped up the contrast and made a few transitions work better. Overall, a fun little experiment, and I'm happy with the results: a pimped out tablet!
My second go at sculpting a character in Zbrush. This is for a university module. I'm more of an environment artist but this turned out to be quite fun! We have to make a character in a program of our choosing, and then import it into UT3 as a custom character. Hence the proportions; we have to fit it to the Unreal rig!
I wish this would end it's not even fun to work on but I still have like 50 more things to do to it. I really wish I was practicing other stuff right now, but I guess this thing atleast has good polygon layout... I think.
Hey guys, first time poster here. Working on my first sculpt, having some difficulties with the face, muscle difinition and the overall proportions. Screengrab from Max with some photoshop fun. Could definitively use some crits! (still have to model his belt in subD)
Randomind: Great axe and awesome model. Maybe the gold is too yellow but that's down to taste. I've got some more practice doing painterly textures. Tree bark texture. Leaves are to come. I had fun with this, it feels more artistic to paint textures instead of going for realism.
thanks :) not sure what you mean, her eyes have a bit of an unnatural slant in some pics in the comic so I tried to stick to that, doesnt translate so well to 3d or maybe its cause the eyes arent spheres they are just sculpted in as this was just a few hours of fun :)
Something a little humble from me. I've never done something in this sort of style, it was actually really fun. I made a complete mouth sock since I want his whole mouth to open up really wide for some expressions. Now I need to move on to textures!
orb: thx man! meshiah: Sick sculpt g2000: well done, gratz! it deserves a better material definition. Update on my dwarf orc. (head based on Paul Richards sketch) Started as a bust doodle, but I'm having fun with him and probably will push further. Any sugestions for armor?
Going for ink- flat materials for my new uni project. Rather fun to play with. Slightly got the idea from Matth haha. Saves UVmapping a whole load of stuff ;') ~ also rigged the robo for a little fight scene that ill have time to do since i wont be uv'ing ;'D
