Ah no I only ask because having doubled up polygons (copy of the mesh inverted) is actually the fastest way to the render the model. Using a shader will give you a performance hit and mess up the lighting on the model (due to the vertices only having one normal) - it's only really useful for parts of a model that have…
No, It's a program called TMD model viewer that I made some years ago. It allows you to view a single TMD playstation model and animate it via Vertex Morphing. I included the source code just in case anyone wanted to figure out how it worked. But the basic concept is that you can just replace the included model with one of…
First time doing "lowpoly style" modeling in my new game idea :) Also i'm not really a modeler but i'm pleased with results :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ii-K1Rp2xU Little Update:
@ Snader: Thanks allot.. ^^ that is a great help for me. @ shaka: Nice model. N does anyone know how to render like the maya view port? The shading information makes the model look like crap.. :(
This is my first public model, a Yamaha SHS-10 Keytar: You can also view it in my flash model viewer where you can spin it around and view the wires if you're into that kind of thing.
OMG, so many awesome models in this topic and they are not exist to any playable game. Thats so sad... Every time I see a lowpoly model here I can imagine a whole new game for it.
@zhone: On models as low as these, you're normally going to have to fake volume and shadows through the means of color values, saturation and hues in the right spot. Screen captures from the window should suffice for show. If you're talking about rendering and having the the model cast a shadow on the ground, I'm not sure…
You're spending too many tris on small details like the nose etc. Start nailing the major forms first. On low poly models as this, what matters most is the silhouette, the rest of details can be done via texture. And also your model doesn't look very good for animating either. Check http://www.tomtallian.com/ and download…
