Neo God, it is a ton of fun designing and making toys... we have some straightlaced clients, and we help out artists and designers with their projects, and we design and manufacture our own product. The trains have been featured in Juxtapoz at least once that I know of... it was quite a thrill.
looks cool there chris, fun lighting setup too. everything has a bit of a heavy-handed black outlined look though - is that intentional? I could easily see that fitting with the style of the game, if that's the case. hard to tell if there's a lot of black linework in the diffuse textures, or if it's coming from the normals.
[ QUOTE ] Vassago: That looks damn cool and like a nightmare to script. [/ QUOTE ] Hehe Thanks. We have a script guru who's pretty damn swanky, though. Just glad I don't have to do it Btw, your mod is damn fun Crashed unexpectedly on me once, though.
I think it's a windmill. Fun fact: I actually went to the Netherlands and took a bunch of reference photos of one (I went primarily for vacation). When I came back I realized I didn't take enough photos and promptly punched myself in the balls. I'm still sore.
I haven't been modelling enough recently, so I just did this tonight for fun, took about 2 hours maybe or so, its part of a larger scene that's sort of based on Roger Dean's "Yellow City." This is just what I got finished before going to bed.
ok, been a bit busy watching ol' Firefly episodes... but here's some progress on the body texture. This is applied to the model with everything elese blacked out.... oh, and I obviously haven't started making him dirty and adding scratched and bullet marks yet (that fun stuff comes last
shimmer that goblin bust looks great! No design in mind, just started making shapes. The outcome is a bit sloppy, but a lot of fun to make. 3rd person view model, 428 triangles, 512x512 normal/spec/diffuse. a few more polygons and it might look alright in first person view.
thanks for the compliments all, I had a female teacher approach me and tell me that she thinks that I don't how profound of a piece I made, because this is essentially every womans nightmare. I think it's coming off extra shiny due to the flash. But it was a very fun piece to make.
[ QUOTE ] Ruz don't you feel like sculpting big fat assault boots like this and yours is like the coolest thing to do in a scultping app ? Maybe it's because of that screenshot of a white trainer that was posted just before Mudbox got released and also because of the crazy Rainbow Six all-zbrush gear stuf that Sebcesoir…
