I'm working on a Sniper set as well - so I was hoping that I am working with the right version. I have struggled with the goggles as well - so I hear you on that.
Which of these two models is correct? Left model from site. Right from Workshop tools. I make set but I do not know which of these two models is correct.
Yeah, I'm familiar with the gradients, but getting it right on this one has been pretty tricky so far. Will give it a time and try to fiddle with it with my eyes fresh, thanks for the feedback =)
That's absolutely the problem. Make sure the model is the right size before you skin it or you'll run into these problems. I learned that the hard way when I made Itsy. D:
I am using the right hand weapon skeleton for bouny hunter, and skinning it only to the joint labelled "rhand". Y UP axis. It is the decompiled one from the game, using GCFScape.
Hehe, it's really hard to get the particles in place as you see :D Can't seem to find the right alignment. Thats four different particles and not one is even close. I'll be back....
Honestly, it bothers me too. These presentations were put together by artists who are not affiliated with liveWorkshop for TI4. It doesn't feel right to let an outside distributor profit from their presentations and tutorials.
@ motenai: looks awesome, I hope you manage to get the metal feeling right in Dota. I worked on another DOTA set: http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=184532057
My guess is that you should check the alpha channel of the mask 2 file. Try making it dark gray (something around #555555), then tinker around with it until you get it right.
