Hi, guys. I'm trying to learn 3d craft by myself. This is my first 3D model. I've done it in Maya 2017 and rendered with Arnold. It took me one day and most of the time I spend on texturing. Give me please any feedbacks.
From the side the shoulder looks a bit weird, I think it needs to be rounder https://procartoon.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Male-Anatomy-Figure-11-inch-Anatomical-Reference-for-Artists-Grey-1.jpg
This guy makes buttering look sooo skillfully smooth. On a STIFF custom x, no less! [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jkr-yGHG_Y"]2017 snowboarding Ultimate Buttering / Flatland - YouTube[/ame] I gotta learn this
1. No, and Maya 2017 is much better at packing UVs than Modo 10. 2. Like blender? Some tools can sort of be used without the gizmo, but no, blender is leagues ahead here. 3. Sorry, not a Max user.
for how strange might seem somehow I found the earlier version of uvmap tool working better, like the relax tool now in 2017 doesn't work at all , it messes all time my uvs shrinking or else .
On the other hand, if prices in a cornerstore are twice as high as a supermarket (IIRC I read £0.11->$0.17 versus $0.35) it's a net savings. And like Dustin said, you don't have to go yourself which saves time and money.
Just finished up the geo on this guy - first complete model of 2018! Feels good  Here are a couple of test renders. Pretty surprised with the results of Maya 2017 Auto-Rig. Couple of weighting issues but not bad overall.
Wow can't believe I forgot to do that. It's Maya 2017. But yeah throttlekitty you solved the problem, I had the threshhold turned up since I was having problems vertex snapping earlier. It's always the simple things...
Thanks :) I'll be posting various stuff here, these two are from two different commercial projects, one is from an urban enviro for police to practice their police skills :) and the other one is for a game which will be released on Steam Q3 2017 :)
I am glad to show you my new work based on WM generated mountains and my custom terrain shader (Unity 2017+). https://www.artstation.com/artwork/nQxJNE Demo Build - https://is.gd/kOB7dg Available on Unity Asset Store! - https://is.gd/dlkK0N
