Hi there! I think your textures actually turned out quite well and you shouldn't sell yourself short :) My favorite part is the patch on the side of the tent. Here are a few things which I think you could take a second look at that would really add to the piece: - In the first image, it's very obvious that the branches are…
Hay! Thank you all for your feedback. Sybrix & Baddcog : I see what you mean about the obvious mirroring, I think if i just remove some of the fine details from the central stip of metal and bronze it wont look as bad. I will take that into acount for my next piece of work. as you say 'on to the next one'. Limewax: I have…
Thanks everyone! Truly means a lot. :) @Ged: The easiest method was to just come up with a shared library/kits we could all use to rapidly populate areas of the game. From large blockout pieces, to more final assets that would be used to setdress the levels. These were then tweaked and fitted to whichever level they were…
@Justin Meisse : That's nice! It's really hard to know, you know. @Johan3043 : Thanks! Well, I've done some crappy concepting but I'm a big fan of handpainted graphics so I guess that kind of counts. Too bad on the rejections, up and at it! @Spazzme : Heya! I'm currently just starting out my third year, by fall next year…
I can't comment on the mountain man as the image is too small to really judge- it looks okay at a distance, but... Your engineer's textures are doing my head mainly because of the face texturing, which looks cartoony and amatuerish. You've got a sample of a head texture from (I assume) photo manipulation on your site which…
For Quixel you can use these instructions and things should work well enough, but it's not as straightforward as just using the PS brush. 3D Painting in PS is a poor experience at best for the reasons Axi5 laid out. Quixel makes painting in PS much better, and you can still do stylized just fine, don't let the PBR stuff…
I like where this is headed. For the op of the barrel where the wood is breaking, the middle broken piece (the larger chunk of it), needs to be more broken. It looks like it is just a piece of like drift wood worn down by the elements instead of being broken. I think you should also add another smaller opening somewhere on…
An admirable plan, I wish you luck getting this presented to the teacher (maybe try to give it as a presentation to the whole class if you can). In my experience it can be very hard to change things like this, especially when there's a curriculum that's been set and probably won't change for that school year. Here's a…
Heyo! Here's some stuff you should check out. Definitely read through the first link, then listen to those crunchcasts while working or if you have some downtime. Lots of golden nuggets of info in there. http://www.jonjones.com/2005/10/07/your-portfolio-repels-jobs/ https://vimeo.com/55005051 [ame="…
thanks so much pix! im very grateful for all the critics you give me! and so nice with an overpaint! yes, i could definitely push the saturation in all areas, and the character looks a lot more alive in your overpaint! i will go over it again and try to work in some more saturation and bouncy light and sss on the…
