Progress from today: Started painting the metal bits on the back. Still finding chrome to be tricky to paint, but reference has been helping me wrap my brain around the material. Also cleaned up some areas on the modem that got muddied while painting in Blender.
So is it like a workshop kinda thing for rust, paid job or just good ol' modding going on here? That weird yellow suit would look totally bad ass if you cleaned up the connections the wrapped cloth, around the dome, does to the top part of the suit.
Seriously love the face! Turned out awesome man. Small nitpick would be that I would have loved to see some color in the hair since it is the same value as the wraps and doesn't quite pop as nicely as I would want it to. In the end, an awesome piece overall though!
Thanks :) Changed the color of the snakes so it reads better with the background and blends better with the particles that I've added: [ame] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Enu5GRUL0eo[/ame] Not much time left so I'll do a final round of polishing before wrapping up. Any thoughts on it?
Sweet! What flavor is it going to be? I prefer mint-n-chip, just thought I'd throw that out there... I know it's still wip, but you should definitely have the icecream wrap around the spikes so they look more embedded. Looks good! Keep it up :) .
I like the new skull design as well, possibly have some thin tattered wires and hooks coming out of the mouth? The skull could be held up by razor wires that wrap around the TVs/TV bases like spider webs, garbled static images on the screens?
Love that concept..it reminds me alot of dead space the monorail stations you always start at and end at. I really want to do a sci-fi piece but Im wrapped up in another project. Good start with doing the blockout, hope it all works out for you.
Thanks for the words of encouragement! Here's the direction I'm going with one of the thumbnails: I think I overdid it on the hangy stuff, and I want to change that. Do you guys like the fuzzy chest with midrif? Or should I put a tunic leather wrap thing on? Kinda debating that.
[ QUOTE ] J What is truly amazing is that the internal combustion engine and the battery are 19th century tech! [/ QUOTE ] actually the battery was first made back thousands of years ago. they found a clay jar with a copper wrapped rod that if filled with grape juice it would produce an electric charge.
Bah, this season is pissing me off. I can't put my finger on why exactly, but it's definitely frustrating to watch. I really hope they wrap this show up in the next couple seasons. Riddles and mysteries just get ridiculous and frustrating if they drag out too long.
