Awesome! Everything is looking great, love the face. Personally I like the tech piece wrapping around, strikes me as quite unique, but I prefer without the gold necklace like in the close up. Feel it's making the design a bit noisy.
Great to see critique from artist to artist here. Things are really shaping up on the tail end of this month and I am excited to see how everything wraps up! @AdvisableRobin - That color variety is what I am talkin about!
New update with small props + some other fixes and blocked in airships. texture refinements, rock decals, and finished airships are on the menu for today. After this I need to wrap up and probably move on to a realistic scene (probably sci-fi interior)
How did you manage to wrap your brush around your mesh without distorting it on x/y. Even if I turn off x and y and only sculpt on z it still distorts on x and y making it impossible to tile.
Wow, thanks for the comments :) The smiley on the back is a pressure/heat instrument. I hope it will be clearer when the texture is done. I wish i had more time on this skin, but I will do my best to wrap it up nicely. This will be a long night!
Gonna wrap this project and move onto the Artstation challenge. Definitely felt like my sculpting game improved quite a bit. After the challenge, I might come back and make some edits, like making better snow and the like.
you could even change the leather for cloth wraps, and have a little bit of blood stain.. it would contrast well, and would add to the grungy feel of it. like the owner has seen some messed up stuff, and done most of it. hehe.
great tip snader that could be worth a try. How would you get a sky like this http://www.cgskies.com/sky.php?sky=221&type= mapped to the uvs of a subdivided cube style sphere? it would be a massive mission to wrap the texture to the uvs?
Ok, one more pass at the skin. Added some more color variation, bump, and gradients to the skin areas. Gonna move on to wrapping up the armor, then a last pass on the gun. After that, I'm gonna make a pedestal, and work on lighting.
Found a couple of minutes today so I decided to do a little substance painter test on the coat. C&C is welcome, as I don't have much experience with substance painter, but I am starting to wrap my head around it!
