Blaisoid: Thanks for the Crit! When I get home from work, I'll stare at some Concrete from CGtextures and give it another go! (Hoping to start modeling the back piece and rails tonight too.)
Hi there, This unwrap would not pass asset QA. Not just for reasons of texture waste but also because the parts themselves aren't quite cleanly unwrapped : you have symmetrical elements that are not symmetrical UV-wise (in other words : the "pelts" are not symmetrically laid following their center line). This may seem…
Inspired by Bhutanese Architecture and my travel experience to the Himalayas, i decided to create a story around it . Developed this project from Concept to Finish. Created several Trim sheets in Substance Painter as most of the design elements would be repeated throughout various architectural elements like doors,…
I haven't been productive recently. Perfectionism is kicking the shit out of me, as usual. Too much going back and forth over the same bits because they don't look right. I'm going round in circles. Ye, i've got a dropbox account but i never use it. That sounds like a smart idea :) Will do that for the smg as its starting to look awesome :) and i dont want to lose this max file :P Cheers. :D
This workflow as a cheap and quick short cut to getting a starting for for textures before Substance Painter existed. If you want to lighten parts of the mesh that are facing up (which is ultimately what this is doing), there's probably a better way to do it with a smart mask or procedurally.
