You need to use the texture palette http://docs.pixologic.com/reference-guide/texture/. I save the texture as a .jpg, as the source .tga wont import. Once you do that you can import it through the texture palette. With the right sub-tool selected, go to the texture palette and select the texture, and it should apply. If it…
If you select them can you at least see the wireframe? If so then you just need to assign it lambert1 again and then give it whatever shader it had on before. Try selecting it and pressing F in case the object is way out in space somewhere. Is the origin of the manipulator at the origin of the scene? If you select it and…
Thanks Krypteia, I know how to get into face selection mode, I was more asking about the preferences of the mode itself. In maya you can have it set up similarly where you can select via face center points, but you can also change it to select anywhere on the face. I was asking if I was able to do this on Blender as well.
What I do is just have a skull mesh (a subd one made in silo from awhile ago) and use that. Load your head teel, select a different tool (such as sphere), load/import the skull. Then select your head tool again and go to subtools>append, and select the skull. Then you can use transpose to position it. Turning on…
selecting faces: I find that the option "ignore backfacing" is kinda sketchy so what I do is rotate the model in wireframe mode making sure that the location of my pointer has no faces behind the one im selecting . i found it rarely impossible to come across a time when this was not possible. "what about when its the last…
Hmm, I was wondering this recently too. Basically any sort of "pattern select" stuff - like if you select 2 faces spaced apart by 2 faces, then can a "pattern select" grab every face offset by 2 in a similar way? I might have to look into methods for this, sounds like it might not be too hard to script (if nobody has…
i enjoyed the demo a lot. a few concerns i had in terms of game play relate back to what is always a concern with console RTS games. Is there a way to select multiple units without select all/select visible? say i just want to grab one set of marines and a warthog and issue them a command, or is that level of micro…
Spherize can do that. http://www.creativecrash.com/maya/script/spherize-selection-maya-plugin-pymel Also, this might work: Select the vertices you need>Create Deformers(Animation)>Sculpt Deformer(default settings) and then scale the locator accordingly to start ¨spherifying¨ the selected vertices accordlingly.Maybe will…
In UV editor go to UVs -> Seams from Islands to make sure all your UV islands have corresponding seams on the 3d model. Then on the model itself, select a seam, press shift+g (select similar) and pick the Seams option. This will select all of your seams. Now simply mark them all as sharp. (ctrl+e -> mark sharp).
Normally you'd go back to object mode or have a face selection to do the mirroring. If you're still in an extrude, it's trying to mirror the faces you had selected for the extrude (even though they're not visually selected). And failing in fun ways now that I'm playing with it. The control box not popping sounds like a bug…
