Thanks for the reply - some great info there :) I guess this is the icon I was referring to - the icon that is seen when people browse through the Workshop - rather than any in-game icon. This IS created by us - correct? And this is what is being requested when you've uploaded the models and textures for an item, and click…
Hi again guy's, have been busy with a few things :) Got back to the lowpoly of the vehicle a few days ago, would be nice to get some opinions on a few things. Planning to do one more weapon for the vehicle, for them to be switchable in the "game" but I am not sure if I should keep the weapons on it's own texture sheet or…
Thanks for the tips guys! Reduced the polycount on the candles, cloth, and note. Added wicks (7 tris a piece) to the candles. Added some warping to the boards for character. I'm still not quite sure how I'm going to break up the textures and their sizes. I don't plan on exceeding 512 x 512 for any of them. I'm open to…
ok got everything ready to order just going to post everything up and see if you guys see a problem (not compatle, missing parts etc) or if anything should be switched out for something else. has changed alil from my last specs but seems like most of the parts i wanted or slightly better parts were on sale.. so i could…
Last year I had an assignment to make a really simple handpainted dungeon, here are some screenshots from maya. Here are some of the textures, everything was 512x512.

Looks great! I found it odd that the troll's skirt was as shiny as the rest of him. Dirty leather has a very low specular, unless it's really greasy. Think of a cowboy's dusty boot. Same with the hair, the leg bands, and the arm bands. Even if he used egg whites to straighten the mohawk, it wouldn't be that shiny, right?…
i stand by my crit yes it was a little too succinct too be much use though... with your updated model i have several points to make up for it ;-) - this wouldnt be usefull for starcraft2 been playing it for a while and im pretty sure that the specs are way too high... even if your downsizing the textures I think you would…
Oh ok that makes more sense. Yeah just mask the padding or do the padding all at once in post with the photoshop filter. If you're adding in extra elements the photoshop filter is probably best. There is no magic ratio of spacing to padding, this isn't really how it works. The problem is not a particular amount of spacing…
