I exported my whole scene from UDK as a obj. Then imported into Zbrush and put the ZSpheres where I would want the roots to wrap around. The texture is a tiling texture out of Zbrush. The smaller roots were made from extruding from a cube in Maya then smoothing once. I had to reduce some by hand. But all in all that worked…
I might have gone a bit overboard, but lets just say it illustrates my point better. her chin is way to fat, its basically a double chin :pensive: overall lower part of the face is way to extruded, and the connection from chin to neck is undefined. basicly you need to define the jaw bone, and then think of the neck as a…
Little video of the in-game animation/interaction : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74Gb2QfVR88 I also posted some other screenshots (such as some wireframe) on artstation : https://www.artstation.com/artwork/gyQYZ I used the Maya text tool to produce flat letter (planes) indeed. However I had to rework them by hand to…
Thanks for the info. For the lighting information, I realize its not ambient occlusion in the literal sense, I was simply trying to show that light is blocked by extruded gemoetry. I was trying to simplify what AO is. I also realize that my AO bake was shite, but I just wanted to show them what to do. Also, thanks for the…
There is about 1 million tutorials for this per application. If you are using Maya, I can send some specific ones I found helpful. But in the end, yes you just have to move a spline around point by point, extrude your geo along it, and use enough resolution as you need. You may find Zbrush tri-curve brush to suit your…
Thx for the crits guys! The hole is as wide as three polygons on the tunnel atm. It was just a quick extrude. So both the shape and the curve is of. As for the end of the tunnel, pure lazynes :P I wanted the curve to be rith first, it's just a matter of duplicating my little module like six times more or something. My…
Yeah, after thinking it over I'm going to agree with Poop. That's really too much money for a hobbyist to spend on modeling tools that are at-best only marginally stronger than the competition. To be honest, I never really find myself straying far from the most basic operations (Extrude, Weld, Cut). The UV tools just look…
Am I the only one to be unable to stand the evangelist voice they use in all these zbrush vids? Also the way they use z-something words to describe each and every feature. On a side note, that extrude thing is somehow already available in Z2. You have to know trick #237 to do it (using morphs to create the difference…
Most good apps have snapping tools which will do this. 3dsMax has snaps which, if set, will allow you to extrude edges and cut verts, all snapping to a high-poly mesh. There is also Polyboost which has better functions for this, but costs money. Maya has "Make Live" which lets you snap any meshes to a selected mesh and…
Thanks for the reply. Ok that's good to know, it certainly looks pretty good. I'm glad to hear it's the box style too, my edge extrude skills aren't too bad but i prefer the box modelling method since it's easier to block out without ref planes that way. I also liked the fact it's pretty old because it's gonna be useful to…
