Maya 2016 has a "Match Transformations" option set under the Modify menu. It lets you match all transformations, translate only, rotate only, scale only, and pivot location.
I have been doing a lot of custom pivots! But iv never had it stick like that before. but that was it! reset the tool and its all good now. Thank you so much!
Hmm.. Blender.. Mirror modifier? Some weird normals (see Overlays -> Face orientation) or maybe Clear Custom Split Normals.. And maybe give it some volume (resize with 3D cursor as pivot point; except the feet)?
1:do you have a bone named root? 2:most likely you need to reset transforms on the model before rigging. (ie: scale and rotation) and center the pivot.
Wait a minute... Hollywood is making a sequel to a pivotal film from my childhood, and from all angles it actually looks like they're *not* going to fuck it up? Looks amaaaaazing
I finished the project :) below is a short movie and some screenshots Big thanks to Nicolas Pirot (nicolaspirot.com) for helping me realise this project and for being such an inspiration :) https://vimeo.com/222201434
Now I'm imagining wall mounts that are magnets. But most people will still want tilt/pivot over flexing. But if flexible TVs are much more durable and harder to break, I can't complain.
Make sure your mesh is 100% true in the middle (reset XForm, pivot, etc) and set in the middle of the world. 3DC doesn't like it when a mesh is slightly bent on one angle or direction.
You can go to Edit>Duplicate Special. Then type in 90 degree and the number of copies. As long as your pivot point is in the right place, that should work. Then select all the verts and got to merge. (:
Always remember before starting to animate reset your models Xform and pivot. It fixed alot of issues for me in the past. In this case I think it might be your Xform that needs resetting.
