THis was bugging me for the past few days, and yes I came to the same conclusion as you Panzer. Also thanks Eric I'll give that a try now. BTW, can you download older PS versions with the subscription? Gotta try that, this new version of PS is really irritating me. :( -

Thnx for the reply Eric! In my case I wouldnt say fix more of a workaround but still at least I can use it :) Hopefully this issue will be fixed in the next update! Quixel Suite is an amazing product, I really hope you guys manage to get everything straightened out. -

Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated, interesting tut and magazine Eric and bugo! For Trebor - so you're saying that your edges and armor piece are two separate meshes until you retopo? You're making a spline from the edges and creating 3d geometry from it? Thanks for the replies! -

Yup, that fixed it. I rolled it back to an older driver from late march and I can now deselect things instantly. For anyone who finds this thread with the same issue: Old weird driver for GTX 980TI : 368.39 New working driver: 364.72 Wooooooooot! Thanks Eric! -

Oh! cool, I see, thanks Eric. I guess they use them for painting decals and things, especially in real time games. It would surely be useful for renders also, where you have lots of similar buildings which you want to look unique with less effort. -

Looks great so far though I agree with Eric & Asylum that you should up the polys on the legs and add hair planes (eventually). This would be a great idea for a game... bug riders... wasn't there a cartoon or animated feature that did this? Love that you chose a rhino beetle too! -

Eric, awesome thanks! Yeah RTShaders is amazing. I upgraded to 2009 though, and it fixed the weird problem with standardfx. I can actually see the AO map moving around in the viewport (like a slippery ghost) when I move uvs in the editor on channel 2. It's pretty cool. -
