That's going to happen. Think of 2.5D like one of these toys; pure depth. If you're working with a plane and the goal is to produce a planar texture map, then this shouldn't be an issue as you wont notice it when you look at it straight-on. So for the rocks, try to do more sharp angles with the trim dynamic brush, the trim smooth border or trim adaptive. Put the alpha 28 (the square) to be more efficient with the effect.
