I moved the other one to the Technical Talk section since it fits better there - I should have put a pointer here so you realised what had happened, sorry. I'll close this thread now and you can get replies in the other one (that EricChadwick linked to).
Sorry, bub, but I'm gonna make you two hike that with me should I take my road trip up north! Cool photos, and absolutely beautiful scenery. It's like a combinations of my visits to New Mexico, the Sierras, and Zion National Park all rolled into one.
well, sorry for the lack of details, ne ways, an amphibious humanoid. I'm still in the process of modeling his guns, not sure what style of gun yet tho. My biggest concern now is if I have a somewhat effecient poly use. Heres the drawings I was working off of.
Ah sorry, I must have just scanned through that one. I'm well familiar with Maya's dubious alpha sorting. Making game art, particularly the sort of stuff we're doing with the hand-helds where half the levels are alpha mapped planes, is a rather testing experience.
It's going to be game-res, I guess. I just like showing it smoothed because I think it looks nice... in my opinion, anyway xD Added nostrils. Thanks for the critique so far Pic non-smoothed Sorry if I'm posting too many images or something
I think this is my favorite piece of yours. The rest of your stuff seriously sucks except for rage for obvious reasons. Would be cool to see this in game res though. Full House it lol but more then this shot. You know you want to. You are banned from the ball sorry
I just tried your tips but nothing really works... I tried with a locator and a cube and but same result... If you want to check my attempt : http://samavan.com/divershelp/_Leg_Test_A.mb (Maya 2008 ) I'm sorry I cannot save it with *.ma, it doesn't work on my Vista >_<
Two things would maybe make it more likely for me to volunteer: 1. Not using the Half-Life2 engine 2. Not using an unauthorized license (Battletech) which is likely to get you 'foxxed'. But actually I am busy woking on my own project (sorry no further infos).
Ooooh, if Eirc (chaddy) is still haunting this topic - i'd like know how you'd create the custom cubemap tex? - just take 6 screenshots of the area around the 'target object' and stitch them in pshop? - or is there an inbuilt capture function........ err. didn't look at the previous posts :( sorry
Hey all! Thanks so much for all the replies :) Sorry for not replying to your comments individually. I really appreciate all your tips and tricks, and helpful comments. It's helped a lot! I've decided to try and work on a personal project with all your tips with an Anakin Skywalker sculpt. This is out my comforts zone but…
