I planned to made small medieval city (at least part of it). I think more details will come with decals, I think it's bit pointless to create few texture versions, just for diffrent details in this case.
Nice find!! I knew there'd be one somewhere I've been looking for it for months. Thought it would be in the decals or graffiti though... there could be more, I know I tried (and failed) to sneak one in ;P
This looks awesome. More color variation in the mechs would be cool. When you get to the faction logos, etc. take a look at the weapons from Brink. They have a cool level of personalization with paint/decals/etc
Looks real nice, though the stones all appear perfectly polished clean and synthetic. Dirt in cracks (AO style), moss, etc. Some dirty decals to melt everything together would be nice too.
Looks great already. You could make it more detailed and less clean by using decals and clutter on the floor. I am thinking of straw that's laying around like you often see in medieval prisons.
Update! Still tweaking material for the steel. Also included a close up of the blood decal, had fun with that! I've got that nasty normal seam too, so I'll have to do some fiddling there soon.
I really recomment to simpy use decals or vertex paint some other texture on the floor :) with thoses kind of view, it's the number one priority to make the ground texture tiling less noticable. Good luck!
Seems all right to me. Maybe some of them could be placed bit better but ending up with this amount of uv islands on a this "complex" shape is normal. Why would you need decals to "hide" them?
Took the beta out for a spin, very happy with how easy it was to use. Based on weapon concepts from the ratched and clank series. All textures made with quixel (even the flames :) ), except the text on the small decal.
Do I see it right that the easiest way to explain whats going on with the ship's texturing and materials, is that its an extensive use of "decals", and tiling materials under them? Even this is how you have put the bolts??
