I would simplify things a bit more to begin with. Don't add volumetric light (I guess that's what the light cones are?) etc. Just start with the general motion and shape of the effect, then add more bells and whistles as you go along. Get the tornado to look good, then add swirling sparks, then add the magical sign, then…
The wing looks paper thin. Even if you say its sci-fi magic, look at the rudder in comparison. Its about ~4 times as thick. Fatten them up a bit with a taper towards the wing tip. And give it a taper front to back. Check out real wing ribs. This will plant the design and make it seem more grounded and functional. :)
There is no magic behind the metallic parameter, as I said, it will just define if you use your colored map as Albedo (dielectric) or Specular (metal). And it's not a lucky guess, I have the UE4 source code. I don't understand why do you want to link that with IoR. The IoR is in the specular color. And the visibility of…
That's awesome, this was the magic line I was looking for to get my script working. Thank you very much for that. I just need to explicitly set the value of this one float field before my script runs to avoid it causing an error if someone accidentally has 0 set in that field. You da maaaaan. floatField -e -v 5.12…
don't drink the haterade... maybe the wielder has some kind of magical Force he uses to make the weapon more practical? I am going to go into this with zero expectations...at the very least I get to see X-wings, tie fighters and the Falcon rip up the screen anyone else notice the Falcon got a new sensor array....
Yay, congratulations ! everything looks perfect :) just a small question : is emissive totally independant from diffuse? we tend to multiply emissive (greyscale) by diffuse to save a few channels, but I guess when you deal with magical assets the emissive often has to be different from the diffuse... is that right? can't…
You could get away with something podracerish, but it wouldn't be very real world at that point... and don't get me wrong, podracing and those podracer designs are the best part of the prequel trilogy, but we all know there's some magic hodgepodgery going on there. I think its a great approach to took at real world ref for…
Sketchfab has a Solidworks plugin that does this. You might want to look into how they are doing it. Also Keyshot technically is doing the same thing when it brings in Solidworks files. It is converting it to polygons based on the image quality settings in Solidworks. I have no idea how either of them do this though. that…
The lore behind the character is she was human and then was turned into a half snake by like a magic curse. But I do agree it seems a little awkward. The other skins/game models usually cheat the blending with some kind of waist seperator like a belt or skirt. You could just continue the snake underbelly up to the belt…
That imaginary clock in your head ain't helping. There is no magic time limit when it comes to growth, or when you can do/not do things. I didn't even start doing art for games until I was in my 30's. If you are 25 right now, your time is not running out...you are still quite young.
