Both of those require a C# side that can pass that data into the shader. #2 can be tricky if you want to have more than just one decal like that. But if it's only one or two, it's easy enough :)
The normandy scene looks great but its a huge huge waste of texture space. Everything is character mapped where you should be using tileables and decales to break up things. Still very nice scene
Using bevel modifier on your lowpoly is a valid workflow. The downside is mostly the limitation of the modifier. It works well on cubes and simple shapes but will usually fall apart when used on complex objects. It's just a different workflow for different purposes than traditional subd modeling. You can also use a bevel…
Hey everyone. I wanted to share my latest 3d work. I am pretty much done with the modeling. Modeled in Max..rendered in Zbrush. Next step will be to add decals using a texture map and doing the shader/lighting setup. Hope you like it. :)
Hello folks, Here is one medieval house i made for my portfolio,i know probably sick of looking at medieval houses :D . Uses 5 - 512x512 tillable textures ,2 decals and one unique texture at same resolution. Any comments are welcomed. Cheers.
Hey All, Looking for C&C on my 50's Soviet Convenience Machine. Currently rendered in 3DO. Is there a way to view multiple LOD's in Quixel Suite? The decals and toilet paper need textured. Let me know what you think.
Thanks man ya i need to go back and fix the emissive map on those two signs they will look much better. working on some more decals for all over. thanks for all the help man.
No the models are as it were , in fact there are other issues regarding uvmap in other vehicle/tanks that need to pay attention , i.e panther back escape hatch used as uvmap of gun bore , so no apply decals back there
that couldn't be achieved by 4 quads? Ah I see he made some broken grate. So as a modular piece, that broken grate repeating make sense? Just wondering. I'd use a decal or something.
Hey thanks for the feedback, I totally agree with your points, Im hoping to get the assets done to a good degree and then do a "polish" pass on it at the end to add decals and trim and patterns to the carpet and weathering etc.
