its where different elements overlap, i thought dynamesh would take care of that but it doesn`t somehow, i`ll try to get a visual example up here when i get home tonight
I made an example to you about how you can make the edges on your highpoly more rounded. Its just that you put the support loops further from the supported edge. I hope this help.
O_O uh I just wanted to use it as a reference and game art direction example in my project. anyhow I did played this game and actually liked it for its art and a bit of change from Battlefield / COD.
example image of intended result Yep. TIG welds with heat anodized rainbow look is planned. Specifically going with TIG over MIG, oxyacetyline, arc, etc, BECAUSE RACECAR (reference to a meme in motorsports) Thanks for looking!
One more question, is Vertex alpha possible? For Example, I want to skirt a mesh along a wall and floor juncture. The skirt is basically used as a decal but the outer verts blend out to zero alpha. This possibly in XSI?
At this point it might just be easier for you to send over what you've got, and I'll create a quick corrugated normal map that you could use as a learning example. Let me know if that's an idea that you're amenable to!
I feel like you could of pushed the textures on objects to have more specular reflections as it is looking a little flat. For example the engine motor, barrels and even the venting/piping in places. Great job anyway dude!
The Buttstock looks like if it was missing the Rubber part. I would darker the Plastic parts a tad more, remember that Black plastic is always black, right now it looks like Sandpapered metal. Edit: heres is an example
I wouldn't be too concerned with the materials one, as the shaders have changed to be pbr friendly in 3.6. The intro one is quite good, it does cover a couple of tools that have since been removed (the voxel tool for example).
Quick way to expand the edge pixels in Photoshop... use the Solidify filter from Flaming Pear. It's in the Free Plugins zip: http://www.flamingpear.com/download.html For example http://www.polycount.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1785248&postcount=5
