working on this beastly tree for an environment i did for a student project. base modeling done in max, now finishing up some minor sculpting and then on to more detailed texturing :) (old version of the tree in the environment)
Hey Guys, Below is a tree i've sculpted a high poly off. Now i'm just trying to find out a way to try and get some detail on the tree as well as texturing it at the same time. I've used spotlight and using zAdd and RGB to try and get a good effect but it still doesn't look correct. I've looked around for some ideas but…
Hey everyone, like the title says, planning on doing a dark forest themed throne. The throne itself will be a tree stump basically, not sure if I plan on putting some fantasy elements in but I might keep it more realistic. I'll be working on that after I finish the first tree. My idea is to create a modular tree, so I can…
Hi there! I'm working on sculpting a tree stump. Was wondering what you guys think about it and if i'm on the right track. Renders done in keyshot (not to make it look better than it is, obviously...) Still WIP, will make lowpoly when im done with it and texture it.
thanks for the guidance ill look into it and fix the sculpted designs. or the models currently fixing the trees and adding more refs to sculpt the design. adding more environment design to add more flare .
Please ignore the sculpt normals. This was a couple hour sculpt study focused around baking displacement maps from the tiling texture that I created separately and quickly adding tiling + rotated UVs to the tree model and baking the displacement map into the UV's of the tree. I then "Sculpted using displacement" in Mudbox…
I just wanted to give a small update on how the aspen tree is going. The first bark texture is sculpted and painted. It will be a bit higher resolution once it's in the game. With the aspen tree, since the bark is so distinctly different in different areas of the tree, I’m planning on doing three different sculpts for each…
For smaller tree trunks, creating a tiling texture from a photo will work well enough if most cases (and generating a normal from that). If you are making a bigger tree that will be a focal point, zbrush or any sculpting software would be the best option.
