So much creativity here *_* @ErikNilsson: Such a cute shark, I always like your creatures and animals (super inspirational! ) : D I want to do a daily drawing challenge for myself, trying to do at least one speedpainting a day. Here's #1 - a swamp dragon
Here's a small thing from me; I wanted to try to make a female character that was both feminine and professional since I'm kinda sick and tired of the focus on cleavage. I had the first version modeled out, but it was too simple to work. The third version is from another model, that didn't quite work out either. So after…
Lately I've found it hard to have tangible leaps of improvement, I guess I no longer get boosts from "randomly painting stuff". I feel like my colors and light are relatively solid, but my drawing ability and visual library is way behind.. soooooooo its time to take a page out of the book by Alex Negrea and do a million…
Cg-sammu, that's squishly adorable! If I got that picture of Moogle with the heart as a huge stamp, I'd probably attach it to my fridge door! And cheers benji! Nice shot from the life drawing place! Edit: did you use your fingers a lot for the smoky shading?
I've been trying to get better at rendering lately so I thought I'd share. I used to spend a lot of time drawing only details and spending countless hours being a perfectionist. That needs to change, so here is my attempt at more loose work.
Found this gesture/pose drawing exercise. 60 seconds to get down some shapes. Good practice and a nice way to warm up before other stuff. http://www.quickposes.com/pages/challenges Here's mine. Nowt special and I think I need lots of practice!
Drew a sketch yesterday because I never draw anymore but I think I should since I reached this level and still enjoy doing it. So I decided I will make a sketch a day now. Sorry for using my phone camera and not a scanner :poly127:
Andrew - Good Idea to add your stuff here, it will help you feel like you have finished something, keeps the motivation going on your own. Not much feedback to give other than to look at more references (From real life) while you draw.
References :) I know its a speedpaint but taking it further might be a great learning experience ^^ Thanks! Nice environment, you should try to have the ship more saturated than the water to draw the attention to it. Or do the ship and buildings a lot darker, and add more of a Sunrise/Sundown
Random photo study: Timelapse below. I've followed a different process than I'm used to, and I'm surprised that such a horrible start became something decent. My sketches suck, I don't know how to go from grayscale to colors and I'm not good at drawing men either.
