I apologize in advance for the lack of art with my post, but would 1057 tris for a character and 2 props be a bit much for this thread? I see folks posting awesome models at around 700 tris, so I am ashamed of my own poly gorging.
did for an art test to get an internship. They have given this art test to previous years so i see no prob in posting it. Tis azula from avatar. 344 tris, though i had it down at 250 tris at one point. 2 64x64 textures.
So I got craking and built the bridge piece. Got it all textured now just have to light it. Tips/critiques all welcome. Things still to do: Light the scene Make 2 more sprites (1 character and 1 enemy) Make the interface
Kovac- http://wardata.buffed.de/?i=30344 <3D-Ansicht> will pop open a mini 3d browser. It's the one handed version of that sword, which means the one you have there is 'supposed' to be a 2 handed sword. So either that's a really big barrel, or your sword is a bit teeny. ^_^
256x256 tex, 692 triangles Got a lil bored making it, so only spent 2 hours on it.. i guess you could call it half finished :P maybe ill return to it when i have some more free time... The face before downscaling:
okno, nice mesh on peach. managed to salvage one of the wip shots, though this is missing the work i did on the hair (managed to get it looking all twisty and tentacularish). Had to add 2 more tris for the chopsticks in her hair (completely forgot about those initially)
Barrel looks good but the target could read better. You can either make the wood a lot darker and less saturated to make the red pop, or make the red target darker almost black red. The 2 elements blend together too much right now.

I would connect it, but wouldn´t merge the vertices for two reasons: 1: you´d get T-junctions, which is bad practice 2: if you connect it (not merging the vertices) you will make a hard edge there anyway, which ingame results in the same vertex count
Expendables 2 tower defense game I have been working on with some other fellas here at soap. Our pixel artist by the name ilkke did the pixel art for the soldiers and worked with me together on the 3d models.
