ok, had some rare free time for personal work , so i decided the hands on my models are shit and tried to make a better one . i made it in a way that i just remove some edges and is fine for subdivision in mudbox. more stuff from me soon
looks cool there chris, fun lighting setup too. everything has a bit of a heavy-handed black outlined look though - is that intentional? I could easily see that fitting with the style of the game, if that's the case. hard to tell if there's a lot of black linework in the diffuse textures, or if it's coming from the normals.
@Spug: Nice work! I like the lights especially. Finished my first model, gonna try and do normals in zbrush. Does anybody else think the hands are too small? Since I'm already over the 500 mark, maybe I should detail them more.
ironbearxl Your character looks bit odd for me dont know realy why :/ If I were You I should tethink his arm connection coz it looks like his hands grow from his arm plates not from torso but I may be wrong
Yeah, the brush options are a blast and immensely helpful, but IMO there's no substitute for the real world as a base. I mainly use brushes for grunge and grime etc and just use photos for truly convincing things like wood, dirt and other grounds, vegetation, and even caution signs and graffiti (what? I don't have time to…
Been working on this in Max of late. Will probably get it into z brush or just hand paint the bump map and use the nvidia plugin to get the additional normal map. Quick dirty normal map test. Trying to see how much I could leave out of the low poly mesh
My friend asked for a snake-monster model. I'm afraid it might be too cliche, maybe I should go with legs. I'm thinking of adding some webbed hands (2 claws and a thumb?) and some web/hood action under the arms, don't know if that'll deform well....
nice start on that lady. I'd "coca cola bottle" her body a bit though, she suffers from treetrunk torso at the moment. Hands are way to huge too. Keep it up! I love all that stuff (not to mention space channel 5 prt2 is my favorite game in history)
Nice stuff Rota, but I think the sterno-mastoid (V shaped neck muscle) on both of the characters seems too thin, and on the thug too pronounced. the fingers on them also seem overly thin and bone-like. That symetrized noodle-vein on both hands of the war guy needs to go too.
[ QUOTE ] yeah seems cool aniceto, hope to see the final .. here is an old character I try to finish as a portfolio piece.. not sure of the colors.. (he will hold a duck in the left hand; don't know raw or cooked yet ^^) [/ QUOTE ] this char is so great, I had to make a fast copy :/
