I reset the edges, and ran the UV Seams to Hard Edges script. Everything looks good in Maya. (I know the topology is pretty bad) Still getting some seam issues though.
I'm short on time so I didn't read the entire threads (just the title). Here's my skin detaching and combining script: https://www.dropbox.com/s/nz9sa0prhbafhhj/Skin_CombineSkin.ms?dl=0
I was copying the script into the startup folder, muscle memory. Fixed now, but damn that's a lot of color banding on this gradients if you have gamma correction on, so make sure you turn it off.
I use the logitech g400s (ugly as hell) and it's perfect for me, I assign scripts and keystrokes to the extra buttons and it's great. I have a profile for substance and max, that's all I need really

http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/36981/Square_Enix_Responds_To_Allegations_Of_Racist_Character_In_Human_Revolution.php HAHA! I knew this would be a controversy! Anyone else talk to this character? Both the script and voice over were cartoonishly bad and cringe-worthy!
I added that in TexTools because the workflow in Max did confused me the hell. I wish I could suppress the warning message via scripting but thats how max works at the moment.
If you look closely, the enemies who are supposed to drive the car also spawn.I'm 100% sure this is a scripted sequence rendered with the game's engine and not a pre-rendered movie rendered with a huge render farm.
Roadkill Pro has a real time shader for Maya that does this, unfortunatly it's not really findable anymore. I'm surprised no one has made a free script/shader that does this yet, as it's obviously possible.
Not everyone knows how to edit a raw shader script though, butcher ShaderFX not only allows us to *easily* create the shaders, but also sets up the viewport settings as well which is nice.
