I saw this a way back, it does indeed look very dodgey. Resin casts probably cost less, and are better quality, and haven't potentially come from someone making a stand for human rights.

Top I think are both clear cast resin items (the circled one could be a butterfly): while the thing on the table could be alambic style container with some yellowish powder, and it is resting on a piece of paper:

Oh... I was talking about the shader used while sculpting, not the renders. In the livestreams you can see people using grey resin. I don't know what those render mats are, sorry. :)

Alot of cool stuff in that forum WIP Iron Man costume papercraft + resin = halo armor I'm going to try and use that papercraft technique to build some crazy looking housings for my circuit bending projects
