Cheers for those piccies Nick, i definately agree they should look less like rubber and more like real jeans :D Il try and work them over again from scratch this week and see where I end up. Heres the close up on the head you wanted: C&C Welcome as always!
Your textures are looking a bit flat. Try bumping up the contrast and adding a little bit complimentary color to your darkest areas. Also faces, your faces seem a little dense for how low poly everything else is. Look up "planes of the face" and try to prioritize your polys to define those shapes.
@RitualSynergY This is looking great. I'm loving the clean and define edge your getting with your sculpt as well as the hard surface piece on it. I was wondering what render you use for your work in progress images for thread? Also if your using Zbrush what matcap do you use on your sculpt before rendering these images?
Thanks for the comments guys. Frell I dont really follow, I moved the thin strap the same as any other mesh, it does have a slight thickness to it. Cap, yea I definately agree, but I think the zbrush width is ok, marmoset just seems to really distort the model with its perspective... thanks guys
Not exactly a LoL level art breakdown, but a great read on art direction... https://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/game-updates/features/dev-blog-defining-rifts-visual-style Also a bit here...…
@MorbidPandaUK Hey thanks for the crit! Definently can work on the transitions between his different body parts. The idea was to give the idea that he was fat but lost lots of weight very quickly, hence the saggy pouches. I'll try and work with those forms a bit better. Pronouncing the jaw is a good shout lacks bones right…
models look nice, especially the chick. textures are what could use most improvement. materials don't look very defined, especially their specularity. the vespa guy also looks a bit clean, he has few stains but clothes seem really fresh anyway. leather elements could use some edge wear.
Fun concept. Face needs anatomy help. Several smaller elements and bony landmarks have been missed. Color zone is monotonous across the skin. Lips don't curve around the face and indent at the sides. The eyes are oval. No sternocledoid mastoid defined. Do you have an evenly lit turn around of the head sculpt?
I want to know if the touch ability's would be good enough to replace the need for the buttons. I keep looking at the bamboo fun ($200) and the Intuos4 med ($350). I'm unsure what to get for home... Correction the bamboo still has 4 user defined buttons. I think i'll give the bamboo fun a go.
I was not happy with how cast metal looked on hull, so went back and re-sculpted it from scratch. Also remade some welds and added some damage marks here and there. Still need to define all rolled metal parts and sculpt some edge wear/tear to break up straight lines on some of parts.
