Here's my 1st WIP on Cho'Gath. I'm trying to retain the main shapes of the new concept while removing any unwanted noise. I'm also keeping the look of the old Cho'Gath in mind to avoid loosing what defines him. I am still finalizing the blocking and i'll be moving to detailing shortly.
Couldn't agree more on the work focusing part but since enough work is complete to make a decent sized portfolio I'm focusing purely on presentation here. A free website would be nice too but my site is already bought and paid with hosting for the next year and a half at least, it's definately something to look into though…
I think Eric already clarified but I thought I'd add this in as well. Shader and Material tend to confused by artists as well. A Shader is the framework for a Material, so this can be created either in code or in a node based editor. The shader defines the properties of a material. A Material is the compiled…
You can also use the regular c preprocessor for this. GLSL program is built from multiple strings, first string could be "#version 120", second string, "#define _VERTEX_", and then the program string, which separates sections trhough #ifdef _VERTEX_ #endif. Although it does look less nice as custom tags.
Flow is definitely to strong, and have wrong color. It should have color more similar to terrain around it, or or should be more sandy. Flow map defines well.. Flow. Which means places where water >flow< trough terrain. You should check how it look in real rives and dyed rivers.

Nox but flash means flash, and in russian it is not only "camera flash" I was thinking of a better word but unfortunately couldn't find one. And what do you think would be better? Inpw yeah, and it is a transliteration. So we are actually have a word for trace a "след" "Sled" but it sounds not cool) and definately not as…
Hoy guys! Thx for the comments! I couldn't work as much as I wanted but I've finally defined what I needed on the character and I think I'm ready to start the 3D production !! lightbird : I'll use Zbrush and 3DS max I guess ( I dont know anything else anyway ).
You didn't quite nail the feel of the concept. There's this planar feel to the folds and fur that you didn't seem to keep in the final render or sculpt. It feels more mushy and soft in your sculpt. The nose is not defined. The eyes are not wide and large like it is in the concept. The legs do not feel chunky and buxom like…
The first thing that stands out is how ill-defined the lower lateral cartilage is... Grab some reference, like this great sculpt from Selwy.com The forms on the rest of the face look to kinda be there, but keep working on them. Also, i noticed a bump in the middle of the head, maybe this was caused by the symmetry brush?…
