That's always the awkward bit about untextured assets, or at least art that LOOKS untextured. I can't help but feel they only thrive in situations where the WHOLE art direction is somehow explained visually. Because they still require skill, it's just they aren't the typical "how well is the leather defined" situation. -

The test for the license goes into depths as to when you can do it, but I've seen many riders, including police officers on motorcycles, lane splitting at 50-60 mph, though I don't. -

N88tr: The triangulation was what the old artist did, our engine does not require that I triangulate anyway. Since I am redoing these from scratch, I decided to define my own topology. Thanks for the comments all, more pprogress shots will be posted as I continue to redo these models. -

Looks great! The only thing that I think is a bit of a problem is high poly sculpt details seem to be a bit too subtle to be captured. I think its important to exaggerate details and almost overly define things to get them to read well when baked. Also dust and sand. -

Update with regards to dodgy colour palette; I like the left hand ones. I'm going to make a new whitebox and define some more shapes and improve the lighting, as suggested by someone I've been chatting to about it. Then over paint that whitebox and hopefully I'll be ready to get on with modelling properly.
