I think the whole stuff is spinning to much and too much synchronized. We don't wan't to see that it's a mapped mesh. If you want to simulate fire you should deform the path of the flames, spin elements at different speeds and so on.
It's not exactly the same, but you can create those objects, use autogrid for creation, and define it as a creation surface in the graphite ribbon's freeform tab, just move elements using local coordinate space. It's not exactly what you want, but it's close..
I haven't played D3 so I'm just guessing here, but with some smart ideas you can get lots of variations by just altering certain texture-elements, adding different colored glows for magical properties, etc.
Awesome plans! I think I'll be different and spend this week planning. In the last challenge, the things that I had the most problems with/consumed the most time were elements I didn't account for initially. Here's hoping for a better turnaround!
This is sweet. Anarchy in game franchises, if you're gonna ressurect a game then you're more than allowed to fuck it up. Doesn't mean making it worse just changing the conventions of what we are used to. It's like a new ip but with familiar elements.
Man, the character work in this game has so much personality, i'm absolutely loving everything I've seen of it so far. Uses a lot of the best elements of the aesthetic that Wildstar landed close to as well. Vitaliy and team is killin' it over there!
Nice! 256 or 512 would seem more appropriate I agree. It's a shame the banner's missing. It's a key element to the character. The beard somhow looks like part of his garnment, some darker strokes in the beard would help too.
Good stuff guys, this is a great idea for a thread. These are by no means recent but its some of the last traditional suff I have done. Pen and ink with water color. This one was charcoal and watercolor with some digi elements added after the fact.
WIP shots of my creep den so far. I am trying to work on silhouette using line drawing on my 3d artwork. Also one of my goals is making a flow smoothly to the focal point with different elements.
Thanks a lot! MAking graphics is much more fun than programing tho :D Haven't had time to touch 3D for few months now and I'm really missing it. Next game will definitely have some 3D elements! :)
