Wanted to try something new. Although I like my other guy he's just a bit too normal for me... Anywho this is based on my concept of Bebop from TMNT. This is about 2 days of progress. Will post more as progress continues.
Reading this makes me sad. I don't know what to say. If you love making 3d then continue it, but don't get $60k of student loan debt with unrealistic expectations for employment without a major improvement in your visual perception and art skills.
So yeah, the post above is exactly why I no longer even comment on Modo. I wouldn't want to be a polarizing figure, geez. And Dataday, I'm not initiating a conversation with you, so please continue sharing your opinions, but leave me out of it.
Seems like, based on the feedback I've received here on Polycount and in talking with friends, options 4 and 5 are the most popular. Between the two, I've decided to move forward with #5. I'll continue to post progress on this as I work on it. Thanks again, everyone!
I started download skins for Counter Strike Source and Half Life 2, and thought it was really cool that you could make your own stuff and get it into games, so i started looking at tutorials and then it have pretty much just continued.
In addition to that ankle comment, I feel like the shoulders and arm armor could use more volume. Perhaps extrude the shoulder armor down over her deltoid. More volume on the forearm would also help continue that thick/thin look.
Thanks, Proto for the words of encouragement. I'll no doubt continue to add more artwork as I progress. I still have lots of work to do if I wanna even think about being a concept artist/illustrator along with 3D Environment Modeler.
sounds like you'd be better off posting something this specific into a hardware focused forum, asking for help. tomshardware, arstechnica, some over-clocker one? here's hope you have a backup machine so you can continue working at least.
Thanks for the crits guys. I tried to incorporate what you guys were mentioning, and there are things I still need to address. Here's where I'm at currently: I've still got ways to go, and things to fix, but I'll be continuously working on this project :)
I do both, actually. Sometimes I'll just clone a face from one object, detach it and continue modeling the new shape. Some things I'll start with a box to get more volume laid down, like with the handle. Just depends =\
