Oh, i think i found the problem. I guess it's TexTools button for converting UV to 3D space which caused this mess. Great! One day wasted for nothing. -

It's in the drop down menu next to the perspective view button: "Field of VIew (H)". But in your case it probably makes more sense to add a camera actor to the scene and set it that way. -

You don't get attachments, you have to host the image yourself and link it here using IMG tags (just click the Insert Image button above the post field). -

You might be running Maya 2016 which has default Viewport color transformation set to sRGB? It's the parameter to the very right of all the small buttons on the top-bar of the viewport.
