Made this yesterday in about 35 minutes: oh, and Davision3D, I have witnesses for this one (Seforin and Josh Winn)! :P edit: Something Seforin asked me to do tonight: A five minute head. Didn't think it was worth bumping the topic for, so just including as an edit.
Just started to look into zbrush, and your script is realy handy. Thanks Pior! [edit] Umm i got a gomatry lowres tool error, the script stoped somewhere after editing the area around the eyes. Probably this error is my fault, i'm a zbrush noob ;x
[ QUOTE ] I guess it all boils down to how good you are at editing normal maps by hand It is definitely a skill I need to work on. [/ QUOTE ] imo everyone should get their hands dirty with hand editing normal maps at least once or ten. but it's a good question. :-)
Sometimes it takes just a subtle rearrangement of the sub-splines to make it work. Try adding an Edit Poly modifier on top of the Editable Spline, go back down to the spline to turn on Show End Result, then move around the sub-splines. Also, try decreasing the Interpolation amount?
+1 Also i think the showcase threads need to be edited slightly. The final images should be edited into the first post if they are not already done so. With the threads being in the showcase so long the latter pages are just filled with 'WOW great work!' and it takes a while to actually find the work in some cases.
Quickest way would be to duplicate the mesh, add an Edit Poly modifier on top, delete everything but the segment you want. Repeat for each segment. Export and test. Optionally, you can smooth the seams between segments by selecting all the segments, and adding an Edit Normals modifier to tweak the edge normals.
how would attach objects? I made the boots an editable poly and then selected the legs as well as the boots; then the modifier went away. I put another editable mesh modifier on top and I still cant get the verts from the boot to weld to the verts on the legs. I apreciate the help guys.
Awesome, :) yeah it's lookin good I love the specular highlights on the hand really feels metal but I'm noticing a lack of specular highlights on the arm with the cannon. EDIT: Oh shit! disregard my most recent comment, I just noticed you edited your original post. great job!
thanks (dank u wel :P ) i'll look into it when i get some spare time to work on it :) at the moment i'm completely slammed with school work... if I do eventually edit it, I would want it to be an actual finish of the concept, not just a quick edit. i'm sure you understand that :)
