That's probably what broke the vertex ordering. If you need to edit morph targets like that you should do it with an edit poly modifier one the master mesh and copy the same modifier onto all the targets. -

I'll usually just, apply an edit poly, scale the object down to the size I want then snap verts to the grid. This way I can just delete the edit poly to get back to the original if necessary. -
Do any of you use the line tool to start a model?
I'd like to know if this is a viable option. Having worked for years hand drawing 2D stuff in illustrator, you can probably imagine - starting something with the line tool (ie the pen tool) seems like the most natural thing for me to do. But I have a hunch it's really not what I should be doing ;) I tried drawing the side… -

Might be some junk data in the mesh? Try creating a box, collapsing to Editable Poly, attaching your mesh, deleting the box element. Might also be the Subiv Surface within Editable Poly. Try using a TurboSmooth modifier instead? -

Three quick things I like to do when this happens. 1. Two normal modifiers > Collapse 2. Edit normals modifer > Select verticies > Reset selected > Collapse 3. Convert to editable mesh > convert to edible poly -
