After fixing pants shading error and getting rid of light being too strong (probably switching an omni for a spot and tweaking values is enough to solve it) on his arm metal part I think I can go ahead and work in a rig for posing purposes
I get horrible looking faces in some parts of the body. Think it's where the polygon density has changed and the polys start to stretch. I don't really want to sub-divide any more. Any way around this apart from moving the verts around?
its too early to say much apart from ur wrinkles look a little noisey, if ur going for a painter look it would be nice flowing strokes. the most important part of a character is the face so once u do that then the rest always falls into place

mminnitt: nice looking head and folds on the pants. As for chromatic aberration, you could always try and use a mask for the filter. just let the effect take place on the brightest parts of your image (the way it would happen with a real camera), rather than on the whole thing.
