Yes, export the model from Max using the .OBJ format, and make sure all the correct boxes are checked, and the "number of decimal places" (or something similar to that) is set to 12, the highest it'll go. That should do it.
proportions still seem a bit off, now he looks like he's 10 - 12. I'd use some ref.. the body seems too thin to be a toddler.. needs more meat, fatter head.

For the peachyness, you could adjust the Hue/Saturation in Photoshop and bring it down to about H:-5, S:-12, L:-10. That would make it a little more pink. Might be closer to what you're looking for.
i taught my lil sis at 12 to work with mudbox in 5 minutes. she's never worked with a 3d app, and can barely draw in photoshop. in comparison, she just stares blankly at the zbrush interface.
