GREAT! love where this is going. About the rocks, what kind of shader do they have? Is there any tesselation or displacement going on? Or just a tiling texture with a normal map?
Here's a peculiar thing, all the rock around the castle is red yet all the building blocks are brown. Crazy labour that. Looks great! ;) Can't wait for the video...
The technique you used to create that rock was awesome and you gave me a lot of inspiration to how I should do it next time I need to. Great job overall.
Nice work. So you rocks are just a tiling texture applied to UDK sculpted terrain? You sculpted a flat plane in zbrush for the normal map than made the diffuse in PS? Is that right? Looks awesome.
ParoXum, thank you for answer! so brick wall is made of tileable meshes where each brick is a unique/duplicated mesh, and have individual texture for it? And LP mesh made by optimizing HP? details from HP mesh baked and mixed in normal map for LP? and where are tileable textures used? as i understand there are not only…
Yep, that needs particles for sure.. In this envirnonmrnt setting it should evaporate water. Also you have rocks at point of inpact so there should be a lot of "white" water with micro bubbles in the air. Enough now :) Let artist decide.
If you don't mind me asking, how did you go about making that rock wall mesh? Did you sculpt in zbrush and then retopo? Or did you just model it? It looks very good, and that's why I'm asking this haha
wow are those textures photo source or hand made? they look amazing.do you have any pointers when it comes to texturing rock/stone so I can stop using straight horrid cgtextures all the time? XD Thanks for the answer :)
