Skeptical, that's looking sweet! Is the ligher colored center piece a giant piece of stone? I have a thread for this, but figured I'd pop it into the waywo as well. Finishing up my brawl character.
Looks promising, although I think it looks a bit noisy, lots of bricks everywhere. Try adding depth fog, IMHO it could help the foreground elements pop out of the background.
With the release of the awesome new UDK and its directx 11 support I decided that it would probably be beneficial to make the scales on this dino pop a little bit more for a more effective displacement map. Enjoy!
It uses the normal map + fresnel for an emissive. It can still appear dark, but under certain lighting conditions the tiles really pop out. I suppose for real dark scenes it wouldn't be ideal at all.
@achillesian Thanks, yea it looks to be about one of the few games out there. every once in a while an old gameboy mockup pops up, but nothing compared to what i have planned for this behemoth of a game.
