Did some handpainting practice at work on Friday.. Not using any photos (except for reference), just trying to hand paint everything from scratch. Was a really fun exercise!
Very nice handpainting texture ,love the style still working on vanguard the old outpost (still WIP) thread of the project http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=86121
My first attempt at handpainted textures for a Games Development module at university.. At this point I still feel the textures are still a bit off...But I'm leaving it for now Feedback and pointers are much appreciated :)
Xoliul: Nice stuff man. Just a quick question, by handpainted do you mean no photo sources or done without high poly - low poly transfer? Also, is the Audi sign on an alpha?
Mental Radiation: Awesome model and textures! I've started texturing my shield. All handpainted :) I was wondering how I could paint the blade without polluting (even more) the shield...:poly141:
Thanks! I definitely need to rework that texture some. I painted another wood texture today, trying some other ways. Takes a while to go back to straight handpainting after not doing it for so many years =\
Great work everybody! here is my attempt at a handpainted cartoony style, it's being made for an Egyptian themed level I'm working on. It took my a couple of retries of sculpting and painting to get it to this point, could really use some feedback :D
Those hatch shaders are awesome looking ace Rayph, i'm getting a real WOWish feel on the design but i think it would work great both in handpainted 3d and more realistic 3d. small value study from earlier today
