I'm reshaping the head a little bit now and adding some geo, though I don't want to spiral out of control with polies here, the idea is as low as possible. Could you highlight where you mean the shadows are off though? I thought they looked okay personally just it's the wrong face. I'm not seeing it and it would help if…
madmuffin, i would watch your attitude , so far you have been either ignoring in a snarky way valuable critiques that are given to your work , and you have gone as far as "educating" an artist of the caliber as Pior and others that have posted here. So far the hair looks really bad , as does the head in general ,…
Do whatever you want, for whatever reasons you have, at whatever spec you like. I might recommend dropping photos on the spots you want to paint well, dirty them up with some ps filters, paint over them, and learn that way. Also showing a low spec model in context (how it will be viewed on its platform of choice) can help.…
DON'T FEED THE TROLLS!!! Ignore Juju everyone learns at their own pace and you have made a ton of great progress just keep in mind that on your next project this should have a turnaround of a few weeks at the max. As you practice more and more the time spent on projects will reduce. If its not then that is probably an area…
If you actually tried to understand what people and especially pior was getting at was that I never actually softened the nose at all, I merely made the light fall on the shapes properly and realisticly. You cannot force shadows and dark spots to appear in places they cannot. You can however pronounce a sharper nose via…
Some great advice. 3dsmax has "preserve UV's which is great for tweaking geometry and not hosing your UV layout. Inside Graphite Modeling Tools there is a Tweak UV setting also, this helps you buy letting you slide the UV's around while looking at the 3D model in the viewport. One other thing you can do is start with your…
Yeah I know what you mean. The tutorial by that lady says to do it at a much larger resolution then you actually intend to show it at, and it's been going pretty well for me so far but you're right when you said I'm basically painting each individual hair, not really large broad strokes or anything. When you say upper…
Wait what? The best advice you got was to basically ignore what everyone says and do what you want? Your model has improved loads from the first post to the latest update so something is working. One point though. This is Polycount, everyone is made fun of to some extent. You might as well get used to it, it's nothing…
Hey at least one good thing that came from this thread was Vig's and a few other poster's helpful critiques and advice. madmuffin if you spent less time defending yourself and just going "Thanks for the help" chances are your model and texture would be better by now. Just because you claim yourself a "3D ARTIST" doesn't…
not sure how you are blending right now but this is the method i use. the reason i say something is you can see all of the brush strokes on the texture, mostly on the face and hair. i use the smudge brush with some scatter and a soft edge. it samples around your stroke giving you a more even blend. here's a picture: hope…
