@musashidan Yup, I remember having applied transforms / freeze transformations. I also am aware of the Machin3Tools clean up, and definitely plan to incorporate it into my workflow :) I was curious though as to how good can the result be if everything clicks correctly using the native tools first.
@FrankPolygon Thanks! That's twice this thread has really helped me out since moving to Blender recently. You were correct, I somehow accidentally added a key frame transformation on frame 3. Once I applied all transformations, it finally stayed in place after reopening the file.
@sinhead If you are looking to have it move along the direction of the edge, try using the normal transform orientation rather than local. If you rotated the plane in edit mode so it doesn't align with the initial object axes then your local transform will no longer align the way you are probably expecting.
@ScottHoneycutt The X scale is set to 1 but the Y and Z scales are set to 5.264 so the objects don't have a uniform scale. Try changing the X scale to 5.264 or the Y and Z scales to 1.00 and that should resolve the scaling issues. (The transform tab works with copy paste if you have to make a lot of changes and there are…
I think you have to tap the axis key to cycle to your selected transform orientation. So for example: Set transform orientation to "normal", G to move, Z to constrain to Global Z axis, Z again to constrain to Normal Z axis, Z again to cycle back to unconstrained move.
You need to activate "keep transformation" when parenting it to the bone. I'm not sure if it works when changing it directly in the Relation settings. Edit: just realised the "keep transformation" switch seams to be a bit buggy for me, pressing it multiple times doesn't change it back and sometimes it shows active but…
