Real quick question: is there a way to do an edgeloop selection from edges already selected? The select loop by clicking is nice but I don't necessarily want that behavior all the time. It does what I want when I go in the menu Select -> Edge Loop/Ring but not when I assign a shortcut to it. Found it: Basically had Loop…
I went from Maya to Max and even that was a struggle. I just wish the Blender team would incorporate a few features Max has like Loop tools, built in set-flow, face constraint and pinch functionality with loops!
Ok I gotta ask cause this is bothering me, is there no way to repeat select a pattern of edge loops? I thought you used 'select next active' (cntrl shift +) but for some reason it doesn't select the whole edge loop.
@guitarguy00 There's an "offset edge slide" tool that does something similar but it only adds and slides loops on either side of a highlighted loop. https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/modeling/meshes/editing/subdividing/loop.html#offset-edge-slide The closest I can come to replicating it (with stock tools) is…
Yeah, Blender's smooth setting for adding loops is pretty good in most cases, but it's not calculating the curvature from neighbour angles of polygons, so it requires used input for that. For example if you have one edge loop missing from an UV Sphere, and you'd like to add it back, correctly calculated with the roundness…
Yeah Contours and Polystrips looks awesome. But in many cases it would be far faster to select edge loops & partial edge loops and generate a polystrip aligned to it, like when you were trying to align the polystrips to the sharpest angle part of the lip and around the eyes.
