Hello !Would decal machine have a feature for generating stairs-edge decal geometry according to you? (I think I'll get it anyway it looks super convenient already..)Assuming steps and wall are different elementsMaybe I'd select the edge and run twice the decal feature in different directions? Thanks for keeping this…
Preview of a tool to convert Grease Pencil strokes into panel decals in DECALmachine. Blender's GP line tool, actually works on curved surfaces now, so I won't even have to port my Tape tool over. I hope there is a polygon tool coming however. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EVeNv8iyNE There's also some MESHmachine at the…
Couple of gamedev add ons : Sprytile : Modeling from texture https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-ezYZgMp-R0&ebc=ANyPxKqK2eIE1i_wXDqizVUzYqoniv0sc1f_Ae7STZiStVJfYIk1qGCv66eXoZzvLYqZQqlK0A1oDcp5tdhiFrxDfmMfApcEzw And DECAL machine https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=45_mvLG-0x8
@pior yeah it was more of a question as to whether blenders normal tangent match toolbags tangent so if I were to add the decal normals to the toolbag bake, would it cause any issues? I reckon that's a moot question though.
@MrNinjutsu : Well, it just works. You can lay down decals at the highpoly stage (thus avoiding the unnecessary modeling of any small details) ; but it is also possible to add such details after a game asset has already been completed. In both cases you end up with two sources : a regular high (or a previously athored game…
I do a lot of hard surface work; weapons, vehicles and other random assets. I've seen decal machine but i wasn't sure if it was appropriate for baking etc? Oh, here we go: Would LOVE to see it in action for game ready assets.
Entirely depends on where your focus is. For me it's Hair Tool. For more technical work Decal Machine looks like a must have. Another must have in my opinion is the Pie Menu Editor. I would have never made the switch to Blender without it and probably gone with Modo instead. That addon has a particularly responsive…
haven't noticed this thread, so I ask here too I've been trying 2.8 release and finding really pleasant compared to previous releases. So I wanted to ask if anybody bakes normal maps right in Blender using round edge shader, decal machine and all that stuff. I remember reading a few years ago that baking in Blender is…
There are no tools to bake down or export decals in 1.8 yet, they will come back in 1.9 and 2.0. 1.8 is a completely new code base. Explort and Atlasing needs to be redone as well, taking advantage of the new internals in DM, which will make the experience simpler and much more robusts. With Blender still being beta and…
DECALmachine 1.8 is out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcaL9k2BW1k I've started my own thread for it here: https://polycount.com/discussion/210294/blender-decalmachine-surface-detailing-using-mesh-decals/ If you are an existing gumroad customer, please check you email. You will have a 100% discount, because 1.8 is a new…
