I'm getting these artifacts in my object when trying to bake normal maps using the Bevel Edge shader. Anyone know the reason for this, or a guide somewhere explaining this? I think I could solve some of these shading errors in my lowpoly by modifying vertex normals, but I don't know how nice that behaves with the bevel…
There is ... absolutely nothing wrong with that cube. If your baking app produces that, and your engine or viewer is synched to it, it would work just fine. (did it just the other day) Its not a shading error, its math ...
Hi Jose, thank you for your help ! Unfortunately this version is giving me the same result/error. The configuration on the Zbrush side works as intended (I just have to manually point to blender.exe because I run Blender directly from a folder as opposed to using a regular install) ; but clicking on the blue/green button…
Thank you very much rpopovici But looks like I can/t make it working in current Blender version . Getting kind of error window ps. oh , I need 2.92 alpha , right?
Say you have a perfect LP mesh that has good UVs but when you bake you get the nasty shading errors across the faces. The only ways to remove these errors in Blender are to split the edges with the EdgeSplit modifier, separate the faces, Bevel the edges or add extra supporting loops so that the smoothing errors are much…
maybe check the console if it errors? Hmm maybe try to rename the folder "SimpleLattice-master.zip" to "SimpleLattice.zip" or so? I rarely use the zip way of installing addons :D Gave the material thing a bit of polish: https://github.com/BenjaminSauder/create_assign_material
I have been having problems with xNormal throwing up errors too. I'm thinking that its possible a bug as the vert. index error even pops up if you use the unchanged LP mesh as the cage in xNormal 3.17.5, but everything works ok in 3.17.0. I just did some tests with 2.49b, and i get the same results. 2.49b had a rock solid…
Right okay, I'll have to check that out once I'm back on the pc. I did check that but whilst editing it threw an error telling me that I had to have it unchecked. Perhaps I was using a UV plugin with it. Thanks.
