Are they incapable of using Google? Not to get pissy but I imagine that "3dsmax smoothing groups" would generate a lot of useful information for them complete with screen shots, videos, examples, etc.
Finally the mirror has a bisect option and can behave like 3dsMax ! Huge thanks to Campbell for that ! https://dev-files.blender.org/file/data/c74zsymx3etuqavduzw4/PHID-FILE-l75qaon623psr2u47nut/demo.mp4
Max Smooth Groups are more akin to weight-painting than just hard/soft edges - this is one of the reasons smoothing can be 'shared' across more than one 'group', something you can't do with Blenders implementation of edge marking (and why it's a complicated mess to implement in Blender using their current system). In…
carter, that tool looks awesome, I'll give it a shot once I'm working on my next character :) Does anyone know if there are any options for adjusting vertex colors once they're assigned like in 3dsmax's Vertex Paint modifier? Blender seems to hold all this info in a "layer" so it seems like it should be doable, but I…
Just re started using Blender recently and I am liking the new features so far. I still use 3dsmax but as someone who handpaints textures. Unlike 3dsmax Viewport canvas, Blender glsl feature allows me to texture paint with bump/normal map display in viewport and I get good results. Best of all the software is free!! Henhe.…
Can someone tell me how do i select the sample area in UV editor when using clone brush to hide the seams,Im using 3dsmax pref.what key should i press to set the sample position?
I'm working on recreating Blenders transform system in 3DSMax: Almost done creating the basic move/grab part for objects, including snapping. Still a ways from release, but I thought a few people in here might find it interesting. :)
Until about 2 years ago I have been using 3DSMAX since 1997. I tried blender and liked it, and after few months of experimentation I decided to use it instead of max. It satisfies my needs just as well.
Well, initially I wanted to lower my costs of operation so I started to look for alternatives to 3DSMAX. Blender and Lightwave were both strong candidates on my list, but since Blender is free I decided to try it out first. I don't think there are any areas in the program itself that I particularly like better in Blender…
